As an employee and as a contractor, new technology has always been embraced as an opportunity for growth. On both team and solo projects, the skills to "do it all" have been repeatedly demonstrated.
Information Technology
- Data Warehouse Architecture - Extensive hands-on and managerial experience in the design, construction and deployment of data warehouse systems.
- Oracle DBA - Extensive hands-on, real-world production experience deploying, maintaining and tuning Oracle data bases. Versions range from 7 to 11g.
- Cognos - ReportNet, PowerPlay, Enterprise Planning - Hands-on familiarity with Cognos' Business Intelligence products, with experience from Impromptu 5 to Cognos 8. Specific experience includes performance tuning the SQL generated by these tools, extracting EP data for integration with other data sources, and supporting the CRN content store in a production environment.
- Data Modeling - Logical and physical data base design for both transactional and decision-support systems. Focus is always on real-world implementations that meet availability, reliability and accessability requirements.
- Oracle PL/SQL Developer - Proficiency with complex PL/SQL programming constructs, including nested arrays, user-defined types and utility packages.
- DBA - Sybase, SQL Server, DB2/UDB, Teradata - Broad range of experience across nearly all known relational data base systems.
- SQL Server Developer - Proven experience with SISS and T-SQL development, including distributed operations and data warehouse ETL process flows.
- Programmer - Unix, Windows, MVS - Proven, hands-on experience with a number of programming languages and environments, including PL/SQL, T-SQL, korn shell, Windows batch and COBOL.
- Insurance Claim and Annuity Processing - Strong familiarity with P&C claims processing from a technology perspective. For life/annuity, solid experience designing data bases to support payout streams and actuarial analysis.
- Publishing and Warehouse Management Processing - Extensive experience with Publishing (bound book) business processes. Project experience has included both transactional and data warehouse system development.
