I’ve been a recruiter for over 15 years. As a recruiter, I get to help other people find their special niche, and that’s a great feeling. Because I love what I do, it never feels like I am working . . . and I hope to help other people get to that place in their careers as well. 

I was referred to MBO by my current client, Booz Allen Hamilton. I had been contracting for quite some time before ever working through MBO Partners. Although it was a little different at first, I have to say this has been the first time in my career as a contractor where I had my own online Business Center to help manage the paperwork and keep me organized. Unlike other contract arrangements I’ve worked on, where I had to handle everything on my own, MBO takes care of the hassles of running the back office of my business. From the contract itself to billing and collecting from my client, everything is done for me.

What I love about MBO is that I don’t have to do that busywork myself; managing timesheets and expenses were always a time consuming pain in the neck, and now it’s so much easier. Not to mention that getting health insurance, life insurance, and other group benefits was always a challenge before, and now I’m set up with great plans.

Although I can’t say how my career may evolve with time, I know I’ll be with MBO Partners for at least the next several years, because it’s such a convenient way to work as an independent contract recruiter. The benefits definitely outweigh the fee, especially when I compare what I would pay for tax and bookkeeping help, as well as getting benefits on my own. The time I save also makes this valuable for me.

My Business Manager has been extremely helpful . . . I used to drive her crazy with payroll questions, and she is always so patient and responsive about taking the time and making sure I have all my questions answered. Right now I have all these different 401(k) plans from the span of my career, and now my Business Manager is helping me roll them all over into my Fidelity 401(k) with MBO Partners. In fact, not just my Business Manager, but everyone I’ve encountered in the firm is personable, professional, and experienced.

Something that stands out to me is that in over three years of working with MBO, is that I’ve never had a problem with a payroll. I’ve never had a delay, and that’s just amazing as a contractor – beyond all expectations. I highly recommend MBO to other recruiters who may be struggling with the administration of their business.
