MBO Fuels Jobs Growth in Fairfax County
Fairfax County EDA Works with 23 Businesses That Will Create More Than 800 Jobs

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va., Aug 13, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- During the second quarter of 2008, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) provided services and resources to 23 businesses that will create 826 jobs in Fairfax County. Combined with totals from the first quarter, the FCEDA has worked this year with nearly 40 companies that will add almost 1,100 jobs to what is one of the country's most vibrant economies.
According to the latest five-year review of the region's economy by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, Fairfax County led the region in labor force growth with a gain of 51,959 jobs and led the region in 2007 in new commercial development, with nearly 6.6 million square feet of projects.
Most of the companies that worked with the FCEDA in the second quarter are American and foreign-owned firms in the information technology and professional services sectors. Among the businesses that said they will add jobs in Fairfax County:
- MBO Partners, Inc., which provides business solutions for independent consultants and their clients, will add 300 jobs.
- Systems integrator and government contractor CACI, which will add 286 jobs.
- Information management and IT provider Platinum Solutions, Inc., which will add 73 jobs.
"Much of the interest in Fairfax County at the moment is from foreign-owned businesses. This is, in part, due to the value of the dollar, but also to the realization that there are enormous business opportunities in this region," said Gerald L.
