Self-employed professionals often give up benefits provided by a full-time W-2 employer when they decide to go independent. Some can get benefits through a spouse's employer, but others are left with few options. With MBO, you can get access to group health benefits, and premiums are deducted straight from your MBO business center, making it easy and convenient.
If you are working independently full-time and are enrolled in Business Services, you can enjoy the security, comfort and ease of participating in MBO’s group health plans. These include medical and dental plans, as well as life insurance and long-term disability.
These benefits are available for full-time associates only.
With MBO, there are two options available for medical insurance coverage: Aetna's MedSure Major Medical Plan and Aetna's Fixed Indemnity Plan.
With the MedSure Plan, you have major medical coverage, which means 100% preventative care coverage and no lifetime maximums. Aetna MedSure plan satisfies the individual mandate as set forth by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The MedSure plan is a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Enrollment in this plan qualifies you to enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA). An HSA allows you to lower your healthcare costs today while also providing a tax-advantage way to save money for future medical expenses.
The Fixed Indemnity Plan is an alternative to a traditional insurance plan. It directly pays the patient a specific dollar amount for services based on a fee schedule regardless of the amount the provider charges. This plan does not satisfy the individual mandate since it is not major medical insurance. It is a supplemental plan designed to help cover and provide income replacement for your out-of-pocket costs. This plan will provide benefits regardless of any other coverage you may have and allows for the following:
We offer an Aetna PPO plan for comprehensive coverage for your dental care needs. The insurance covers preventive care and reduces out-of-pocket expenses for other dental procedures. This plan allows for coverage of yourself as well as your qualified dependents.
Life insurance and long-term disability insurance can help your family find peace of mind in a time when support is needed. In addition to helping to support dependents, life insurance can help provide immediate cash to pay the deceased’s debts, funeral expenses and income or estate taxes.
Long-term disabilities aren’t planned. But when they occur, you need to have protection for you and your family; the prospect of losing a few months of income isn’t an option for many families. Long-term disability insurance provides coverage in a time when you are not able to earn your full income.
MBO offers Life and Long-Term Disability insurance through Aetna to help you prepare for future needs. Our plans are both guaranteed issue, which means no medical underwriting is needed.
