About Gary
Bettger and Associates, Inc. Founder and Principal Consultant, Gary Bettger, is a versatile, internationally accomplished management consultant, trainer/facilitator, instructional designer, and leadership coach. His unparalleled breadth/depth of experience ranges across multiple sectors - commercial (e.g., Microsoft, Marriott, T Rowe Price, Bank of America, Cargill, Stainless Steel Industry, Hawaiian Electric, Deloitte), public (virtually all federal agencies), and nonprofit (e.g., Wolf Trap Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, others).
He also brings unique global context built via travel in 45 countries (with work in 27 of them). He is also a highly rated Adjunct Professor teaching graduate courses at George Mason University. He brings his own graduate-level education from Harvard (Masters in Public Policy) and Georgetown (Change Management Advanced Practitioner) Universities. Gary was recently elected a Fellow in the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) Center of Accountability and Performance (CAP) and has been recognized with multiple awards from organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Booz Allen Hamilton, and the US Office of Personnel Management. Gary is also an in-demand speaker having presented at conferences such as Excellence in Government, International AIDS Conference, Advanced Learning Institute, Performance Institute, Partnership for Public Service, Staffing Industry Analysts, and others.
In addition to nearly a decade leading Bettger and Associates, Inc., Gary brings experience with other top-flight organizations. For instance, he was a Senior Manager at Booz Allen Hamilton where he led multi-million dollar business captures, drove market strategies, managed projects, built high-functioning consulting teams, and authored firm-wide intellectual capital. Prior to that, he was Principal Strategy Consultant at Noblestar, a technology/management consulting firm. There, he provided commercial consulting including strategy, customer relationship management, analytics, and process re-engineering. He also led the wireless strategy for the firm in US/Sweden. At Georgetown Economic Services, Gary was a Practice Manager and developed over $1million in new revenue and led international market research regarding value chain, financial, import/export strategies, and other. Finally, Gary was a Senior Trade Analyst at the US Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration (entering the federal service by being competitively selected as a Presidential Management Intern).
