The ability to understand, synthesize, and summarize at different levels for different audiences within and outside an organization is one of the most underrated skills in business. Add to that, a relentless curiosity and the willingness to work to simplify complexity at every turn and turn that into implementable decisions, and that - at any level - is what drives change.
Simon is an accomplished executive whose career spans multiple leadership roles across several disciplines, with an underlying foundation of data, analytics and technology. From an initial ten-year tenure with Accenture in the United Kingdom and the United States, his background includes significant roles with FICO (data, analytics and rules applied to consumer credit, risk and marketing), Acxiom Corporation (consumer data and marketing technology) and Optum (demand generation and digital marketing).
Simon began his career in London but has spent most of it in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Over that time he has helped a
variety of clients, including Northern States Power (now Xcel Energy), Sprint, the London Stock Exchange, US West (Telecom), Bank of America, Spiegel (Retail), Deluxe (Manufacturing and Small Business Services) and Retek (now Oracle Retail), improve their
operations and outcomes, with a focus on the use of data to make better business decisions.
Simon’s career spans roles in Consulting, IT Operations, Product Management, Product Marketing, Account Management, Business Development and Marketing Operations, developing a diverse set of skills that can be directed to helping clients across multiple domains, and often acting as something of “human middleware” between sometimes competing internal functions. Simon has built data-driven partnerships between Acxiom and IBM, Salesforce and Marketo – connecting consumer and business data to the software distribution channels most able to deliver them to the end user at the greatest point of value, creating multiple millions of dollars in solution pipeline.
Most recently he led the re-engineering of an 80+ person team of B2B Digital Marketing professionals, driving attributable marketing efforts across all digital channels to over 85% of a multi-billion dollar sales pipeline, implementing a modern marketing measurement framework, and driving the integration of a $5m marketing technology stack to improve the planning – execution – optimization cycle for marketing. He also led the development of the web experience platform for 45+ websites, a multi-year $15m+ investment.
Simon has been a speaker on the subject of data acquisition, utilization and delivery in marketing at multiple conferences, including IBM Amplify, Dreamforce, and RampUp.
Simon graduated from the University of Salford in Lancashire, U.K. with a Bachelor of Science in Business Operation and Control. He lives in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN.
