This statement sets out the steps MBO has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains.

MBO’s Business

MBO’s mission is to make it easier for enterprise organizations and independent contractors to work together. MBO provides contingent workforce management solutions that optimize the engagement between clients and independent contractors. MBO’s comprehensive contingent workforce management solutions allow clients to source exceptional talent, scale their independent workforce, and optimize their workforce management practices.

MBO’s Supply Chains

Our supply chains consist of

• Contingent workers who provide professional services; and suppliers of contingent workers who provide professional services; and
• Suppliers of goods and services such as software, office supplies, and professional services such as legal and accounting advice.

We expect our suppliers to have high ethical standards and to operate in an ethical, legally compliant, and professional manner. We also expect our suppliers to promote similar standards in their own supply chain.

MBO’s policies on slavery and human trafficking

MBO is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or in our supply chains.

MBO’s policies prohibit all forms of forced and compulsory labor. MBO’s policies prohibit forced, bonded (including debt bondage) and/or indentured labor, involuntary and/or exploitative prison labor, and slavery or trafficking of persons. This includes transporting, harboring, recruiting, transferring or receiving persons by means of threat, force, coercion, abduction or fraud for labor or services. MBO will not impose unreasonable restrictions on workers’ freedom of movement in the facility or on entering or exiting company provided facilities. All work is voluntary, and workers shall be free to leave work at any time or terminate their employment. MBO will not hold or otherwise destroy, conceal, confiscate or deny access by employees to their identity or immigration documents, such as government-issued identification, passports or work permits, unless such holdings are required by law. MBO shall not require workers to pay employers’ or agents’ recruitment fees or other related fees for their employment. If any such fees are found to have been paid by workers, such fees shall be repaid to the worker.

MBO’s policies prohibit all forms of child labor. The term “child” refers to any person under the age of 15, or under the age for completing compulsory education, or under the minimum age for employment in the country, whichever is greatest. MBO supports legitimate workplace learning programs, which comply with all laws and regulations. MBO does not allow workers under the age of 18 to perform work that is likely to jeopardize their health or safety, including night shifts and overtime. MBO requires proper management of student workers through proper maintenance of student records, rigorous due diligence of educational partners, and protection of students’ rights in accordance with applicable law and regulations. MBO will provide appropriate support and training to all student workers.

Supplier adherence to MBO values

MBO requires that suppliers comply with labor laws and all laws prohibiting modern slavery or human trafficking. MBO performs annual assessments of its suppliers.

Risk assessment

As a part of the supply chain of professional workers to our clients, the risk of modern slavery is low given:

• the nature of the services which we provide (engaging highly skilled professionals); and
• the locations from which we provide them (mostly in developed markets).

Our processes around engaging candidates and onboarding employees and independent contractors enable us to identify risks of modern slavery and take appropriate action.
