MBO Platform Security Enhancement

At MBO Partners, data security is a critical, fundamental obligation that underscores and guides our entire business operations. We take our responsibility to safeguard users' data very seriously and we continually seek ways to stay ahead of emerging threats.

With that in mind, MBO is enhancing our platform's already robust security features by adding multi-factor authentication to the login process.

To achieve this, MBO has partnered with Okta-one of the world's leaders in data security, identity, and access management.

01 What changed

On February 21, 2021, MBO Partners implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (powered by Okta) into the login process for the MBO platform. This includes the MBO Portal (e.g., for time/expense entry) and the MBO marketplace (to search for projects or consultants).

02 What does this mean for you?

If you login to the MBO Portal or marketplace, there are some steps to take, outlined below. You need to create a password to login and will be prompted for multi-factor authentication (MFA) on subsequent logins going forward.

When logging into the MBO Portal (previously Business center) or Marketplace

You will be required to create a password.
- Follow this step-by-step guide to set up your password and multi-factor authentication.
- Note that there are additional character requirements for MBO passwords going forward.
On subsequent logins, you will need to enter your username and password, plus verify your identity through another method via multi-factor authentication (e.g., email, Okta mobile app push).
- Multi-factor authentication example: Submit your username and password normally. Then, an email will be sent to your email address on file - the email will include an OTP code. Enter that code to successfully login to the MBO platform.
- Note: you can control if the multi-factor authentication is required each login or once every 30 days
