Accenture and MBO Partners: Engaging independent workers safely and efficiently
01 Introduction
Accenture uses MBO Partners as its engagement services provider for independent workers (a.k.a. contractors, consultants, freelancers, small services providers, and non-employee workers). MBO ensures proper legal classification for Accenture-referred independents, onboards the workers, offers benefits to those who are eligible, pays workers on Accenture's behalf, and provides day-to-day support.
02 Independent worker engagement process
When you identify a new in-scope independent worker for a project, complete the IC Prequalification Form on Accenture's SharePoint site. Note that you may later be asked to provide additional information about the worker. For information on accessing this form, contact DeShaise Frierson at d.frierson@accenture.com.
03 Ongoing administration
For your hourly independent workers, you approve time and expense submissions through the IQNavigator Vendor Management System. For Statement of Work (SOW) independent workers, assignment administration and approval take place in the Fieldglass Vendor Management System. The Cx Program Office can provide instructions if necessary.
To avoid payment delays, be sure to approve all submissions by noon each Monday for the previous week's work.
04 About MBO Partners
MBO Partners helps Accenture offer the most efficient and appealing engagement environment possible for its valued independent talent. MBO's flexible engagement services (below) ensure that Accenture can manage contractor relationships efficiently while staying compliant with contractor-related regulations. MBO also provides independents the highest level of advocacy and support throughout their Accenture assignments.
05 Talent sourcing support
Accenture's dedicated Independent Talent Network (ITN) Team Manager will work with you to attract and hire from the pool of 130,000 Talent inside of MBO's marketplace. This Fortune 500-proven Talent exists across 18 skill domains and over 112 specialties, including cyber security, network engineering, finance/accounting, software programming, and business transformation. Note that a small sourcing fee applies for successful placements, which is in addition to MBO's standard engagement service fees. This combined fee is still a fraction of the cost of working with traditional staffing suppliers.

We can begin the process of recruiting, screening, and submitting vetted Talent for your review afterward. For most roles, MBO's ITN team can deliver high-quality talent in 72 hours or less. You simply select the candidate which best matches your needs and we will then initiate our standard onboarding process.
06 MBO's engagement services
MBO directs Accenture-referred contractors into one of three engagement services depending on their characteristics, expectations, and business qualifications:
- Vendor Services, a business-to-business engagement service for independent professionals who meet Accenture's criteria to engage as qualified vendors. Candidates must meet these criteria and pass a qualification evaluation. (Note: For Creative Influencers, different qualification criteria apply.)
- Business Services, a unique engagement alternative for independent professionals who wish to work as compliant independent business owners (LLCs or corporations) but need assistance meeting and maintaining the appropriate credentials to do so. Independents engaged through Business Services enjoy the freedom and flexibility of operating an independent business at less cost and with less administration than doing it alone.
- Payroll Services, a conventional W-2 payrolling solution for hourly workers who do not consider themselves (or qualify to operate as) true independent business practitioners.
