A Big 4 accounting and professional services firm wanted a more flexible way to recruit highly specialized independent talent within their nascent direct sourcing program. Although they were engineering a solution with the right technology, with more than 300,000 employees worldwide they determined that they did not have the right level of industry knowledge or management to maintain compliant hiring practices at scale – while increasing efficiency and reducing costs.

MBO leveraged 25 years of experience in professional services along with our team of recruiting experts to find and procure qualified independent contractors according to meticulous legal frameworks. Net new talent were sourced as well as contingent professionals within MBO’s network who had experience working at similar consulting firms and were highly qualified candidates.

Key roles were filled as the organization's first talent pool was created:

  • 7,000 top tier in-demand contingent talent
  • including audit, tax and advisory contractors
  • as well as project managers, marketing professionals and software engineers.

MBO research indicated that professionals who already have experience working within specific talent pools have proven their proficiency, are familiar with expectations, have established trust, and are therefore able to make measurable business impacts faster.

This tactical pooling approach enabled the firm to group vetted independents by skill, location, and role so they could be easily reviewed and quickly deployed for upcoming projects.

In partnership with MBO, the consulting firm customized their contingent direct sourcing marketplace and rapidly grew it by 100 percent with an average savings of 35-40 percent on each requisition.

The large pool of qualified talent enabled the Firm to nurture and engage independents known to their organization which contributed to
