Statement on the Passing of Bittu Ahlawat

We are deeply saddened by the news that Senior Vice President of Product Engineering Bittu Ahlawat passed away.   

A valued member of MBO’s senior leadership team, Bittu was both well-liked and highly respected for his dedication and care to his team in the U.S. and India and, more significantly, for his exceptional personal attributes.  

Bittu made a lasting impression on everyone he met. A voracious reader of business books, Bittu was internally known for his “reading lists” and his ability to instantly connect with any colleague as a true problem solver, breaking down even complex business issues to define core components and a clear path forward.  His impact on MBO’s technology strategy and roadmap will be felt for years.  A recent example of this was the approval of our mobile app on the first submission to Apple.  It is an excellent example of his technical and strategic prowess. 

He left behind a legacy of innovation, progress, and positive impact on society, as covered in our recent Staff Spotlight on his influences and inspirations.  

Although our hearts remain heavy, we take comfort in knowing he will be fondly remembered as a leader, a teammate, and a friend. His friends and family, including his wife and young daughter, remain foremost in our thoughts during this difficult time.
