HERNDON, VA – January 22, 2019 – MBO Partners®, the largest provider of independent workforce innovation and solutions for the world’s leading enterprises, announced today that Bryan Peña will join as senior vice president and chief of market strategy in early March.

Prior to joining MBO, Bryan Peña served for more than a decade at Staffing Industry Analysts. He most recently held the title of senior vice president of contingent workforce strategies.

“Bryan is a highly accomplished executive who has worked with some of the world’s leading enterprises to build programs that will affect our industry for years to come,” said Gene Zaino, founder and CEO, MBO Partners. “I am excited to see Bryan apply his knowledge, talents, and expertise to help enterprises reinvent how work gets done, aligning them with the growing workforce of millions of talented professionals who have learned that working independently is more rewarding, more satisfying, and offers more choice than traditional employment.”

Peña will focus on MBO Partners’ overall market strategy, partnership development, and enterprise capabilities to support the growing demand for independent workforce solutions, as well as act as an industry advocate to elevate the role of the extended workforce.

“It’s no secret the world of work is rapidly changing,” said Peña. “MBO has always been at the forefront of that change. I am excited to be joining the MBO team in creating the next generation of workforce solutions in an increasingly challenging global economy.”

Peña is a recognized expert on flexible staffing programs and strategies, including workforce management programs, MSP models, VMS technology, variable and full-time labor, pricing options, RFx processes, and supplier negotiation strategies. A sought-after speaker, Peña has also gained wide industry recognition for his work with CWS Council members—amounting to more than $100 billion in contingent spend—in managing their extended workforce programs.

During his tenure with SIA, Peña and his team crafted the Certified Contingent Workforce Professional (CCWP) program. This accreditation was the first of its kind dedicated solely to CW practitioners. It has been taught on three continents and is widely credited with fundamentally changing the industry.

Previously, Peña was senior global commodity manager of professional services at Avery Dennison. Prior to that, he was at Vivendi Universal Entertainment (now NBC Universal) North America as acting director of strategic sourcing and professional services.

He holds a BA in Economics from the University of California at San Diego.
